Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

I'm going to try very hard to stick to my tbr this time, you guys!! *puts game face on*

(Click the cover for more info on the book at Goodreads!)

1. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The blurb for this book drew me in, as did the cover.
There's a lot of hype around this one. My fingers are crossed that I enjoy it!

2. Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley
The last book in the paranormal romance Three series!
I LOVED the second book. I really hope it ends well.

3. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh
I wasn't aware of this book until Sue talked about it. The blurb looks good.
I hear it's fantastic. I'm all for the hate-to-love subplot heheh.

4. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This was actually my most highly anticipated YA book this year.
I've heard good things, so I can't wait to dive in!

5. Echo by E.K. Blair
Dude. Bang was intense and I've been waiting for the right frame of mind to dive into Echo.
I think I'm ready...?

Review: BANG by E.K. Blair

Title: Bang
Author: E.K. Blair
Black Lotus #1
Publication Date: May 9, 2014
+Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes&Noble | iBooks |

They say when you take revenge against another you lose a part of your innocence.
But I'm not innocent.
I haven't been for a very long time.
My innocence was stolen from me. Taken was the life I was suppose to have. The soul I was born with. The ruby heart embedded in a life full of hopes and dreams.

Gone.
Vanished.

I never even had a choice.
I mourn that life. Mourn the what-ifs.
Until now.
I'm ready to take back that was always meant to be mine.

But every plan has a fatal flaw. Sometimes it's the heart.
**Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only as some scenes may be particularly disturbing**

"Nothing is real until you break down the walls and reveal the ugliness."

"What on earth did I just read?" was my first thought after finishing this book. "OMFG" was my second. Dark erotic suspense novels aren't everyone's cup of tea but I'm starting to find it's one of my guilty pleasures. I was so torn on how I'd go about rating this book to be honest. But even though Bang took me way out of my comfort zone, it's undeniable that this book was brilliantly written. I'm still reeling and in shock with how it ended though. WHAT WAS THAT CLIFFY?! Bang would make one epic revenge thriller movie. Holy smokes.

India Harris didn't have the best start in life. Abandoned as a baby, she and her twin brother, Kit, spent their lives in foster care, only having each other to rely on. Then, at a young age, a relationship with the wrong man left India pregnant. Wanting to give her son the life she never had, she put herself through school and graduated with honors.

Now, at the age of thirty, she's a highly respected therapist.

At the top of his game as a Formula One driver, Leandro Silva had everything—until and accident on the track left him staring death in the face. After enduring twelve months of physical therapy, Leandro is now physically able to race, but his mind is keeping him from the track. Frustrated and angry, Leandro's days and nights are filled with limitless alcohol and faceless women.

Entering the last year of his contract, he knows he has to race again, or he'll lose everything he spent his life working for. Forced into therapy to get his life back, Leandro finds himself in the office of Dr. India Harris.

Falling for his uptight therapist is not part of Leandro's plan.

Having unethical feelings for her patient, the angry Brazilian race car driver, is not part of India's plan.

But what if the wrong person is the only person who is right?
