Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Loved With Romance and School/Education

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

I meant to post this yesterday but of course my plan fell through. Let's pretend it's still Tuesday anyway! This week's prompt was "School Freebie" in honor of school starting up soon. We're to come up with a topic that somehow ties to school/education. Even though I've graduated and left academia almost two years ago, I still get very excited around this time because of school supplies and stationery! I was very tempted to show you my emotional support stack of untouched notebooks. Instead I've decided to split my list into two parts with the overarching theme being romance (of course). All of the books on this list are ones that I have read and enjoyed~

Top Ten Swoony Dates/Quotes

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

I feel like January just zoomed by and now Valentine's Day is right around the corner. What is my favourite aspect about the annual Love Day you ask? Sweet treats, duh. CHOCOLATE! This week's prompt is 'Valentine's Day/Love Freebie'. I'm going to mix the two and share some top-class, swoon-worthy dates/quotes that will always live rent-free in my mind. I've recruited my romance soul sisters, Lisa and Katie, to share a few of theirs as well (thank you, my darlings~). Prepare to get swept off your feet, people!

Top Ten TBR Books for Spring 2020

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

This week's prompt is 'Spring 2020 TBR' (or Fall TBR for the southern hemisphere!) I don't often stick to a TBR list, it really depends on my mood. Since my class has been suspended this week and online for the rest of the term, of course I'm going to read hah. I will do my best to finish at least two books this season~

Top Ten Bookmarks

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

This week's prompt is 'Favorite Bookmarks' and oh what a struggle it was to pick my top ten! I haven't been reading much lately but no fear, my bookmarks are still being used well~ They make textbook reading a little more bearable heh.

Top Ten Book Characters I'd Love To Be Besties With

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

Most of these characters are ones I would love to be besties with and just know we would click or have the most fun times together. For some, I feel I would be too nervous to hang out with them or be a one-sided bestie hoping they'll look my way and take me in as a protégé or something hah. I tried to include a variety of characters but let me be honest, I can't be besties with a hero... I'm 9/10 going to be secretly in love with him. :')

Top Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I'm Looking Forward To

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

About half of this list have only been optioned for film that I really really hope go into production. *fingers crossed 24/7*
These are in a specific order from 'I NEED THIS TODAY' to 'Ooh sounds good, give it to me'.
[* = optioned]

1. Under the Never Sky*
With how popular CGI has gotten in films, I can imagine how amazing the Aether storms and virtual worlds would look like. And [more importantly,] I can imagine my drooling over the two actors that get cast as Perry and Roar ;)

2. Daughter of Smoke and Bone*
So I finished reading this book a few months back and loved it!
I feel like DoS&B could have LotR-potential cinematography (aka epicness).

3. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
J.K. Rowling, magical monsters and Eddie Redmayne.
Needless to say I'm really looking forward to being back in the wizarding world!

Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

I'm going to try very hard to stick to my tbr this time, you guys!! *puts game face on*

(Click the cover for more info on the book at Goodreads!)

1. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The blurb for this book drew me in, as did the cover.
There's a lot of hype around this one. My fingers are crossed that I enjoy it!

2. Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley
The last book in the paranormal romance Three series!
I LOVED the second book. I really hope it ends well.

3. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh
I wasn't aware of this book until Sue talked about it. The blurb looks good.
I hear it's fantastic. I'm all for the hate-to-love subplot heheh.

4. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
This was actually my most highly anticipated YA book this year.
I've heard good things, so I can't wait to dive in!

5. Echo by E.K. Blair
Dude. Bang was intense and I've been waiting for the right frame of mind to dive into Echo.
I think I'm ready...?

Top Ten All-Time Favorite Authors

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

This was so incredibly hard but I've narrowed it down!! And I'm sticking with my automatic read adult/new adult romance authors. You can click their name to check out their website or the covers image for their goodreads page. For this list I'll mention the books/series I've read of theirs that won me over and their genres (if it's not contemporary). :)

1. Kristen Ashley
She is my Adult Contemporary Romance queen. Reading her books is like coming home.
I can always depend on KA to give me swoony alphas and sassy heroines.
[Read and loved: Rock Chick series, The 'Burg series, Colorado Mountain series,
Fantasyland series (parallel worlds), The Three series (pnr), Dream Man series, The Chaos series and The Will]

2. Krista & Becca Ritchie
These twins are a superwriting duo who have quickly shot up as my top favorite New Adult Contemporary Romance authors!
They excel at writing family and friendship dynamics. You'll fall with their characters in a flash.
[Read and loved: Addicted series, Calloway Sisters series (spin-off) and Amour Amour]

Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR List

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

I don't think I've ever stuck to a tbr list completely but here are some books that I really hope to start:
(Click covers for Goodreads link)

1. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Now that I know Winter will be releasing this year, I need to get a move on with The Lunar Chronicles!
I finished Cinder the beginning of this year and adored it. I can't wait to start Scarlet
which based on the synopsis will parallel Red Riding Hood. :D

2. Seeds of Iniquity by J.A. Redmerski
I LOVE THIS SERIES. It's one of those books that make me question good vs. evil.
The other books in the series were thrilling and intense.
I was hoping book 4 would be more on Fredrik but this Nora character sounds kickass as well.

Ten Book Related Problems I Have

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, where a new topic is given for a top ten list - - -

1. Matching series cover makes me happy
It's not unusual to see multiple editions of a book/series, but having matching covers is A MUST in my book.
That includes having an entire series as only hardcover or paperback. I can't handle it not being as such.

2. I go heart-eyes when books on a shelf are the same height
Doesn't it make you glow when you see that your books align in height? No? Well, I do haha.
If I can fit another book perfectly on top of said books, I cheer.
It's one of the things I love about reorganizing my bookshelf, it's like completing a difficult puzzle.

Top Ten Characters I Wish Would Get Their Own Book

This week's topic is to pick our top ten characters we wish had their own book
(minor or semi-main character you'd want a book in their POV).
A lot of the books I've read are part of a series where secondary characters end up getting their own book anyway *fist pump*.
But here are some secondary characters that I would LOVE to read their story and finally get in their head!
Many of them are from the same series :)

Top Ten New Series I Want To Start

This week's topic is to pick our top ten new series we want to start. New within the last year or two.
I've come across so many that have caught my interest.
I really need to find a way to randomly choose which books to read because I'm having the hardest time doing it myself!

Made it just in time! I love reading these Top Ten Tuesday posts from other blogs because it's such a great way to find new books that would not have been on my book radar otherwise! So now that I have my own blog, I've decided I'm joining in on the fun. :D
