Top Ten TBR Books for Spring 2020

- - - Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme, created at The Broke and The Bookish but now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, where a new topic is given for a top ten book-related list - - -

This week's prompt is 'Spring 2020 TBR' (or Fall TBR for the southern hemisphere!) I don't often stick to a TBR list, it really depends on my mood. Since my class has been suspended this week and online for the rest of the term, of course I'm going to read hah. I will do my best to finish at least two books this season~

1, 2 + 3: The Grisha Trilogy
Nothing like a TV-series adaptation announcement to get my READ ME radar going!
I have a friend that has been pushing this series on me since my first year of nursing school. Well, mostly the Six of Crows trilogy, but she said I'd enjoy that one even more if I read this one first?? Tis' time I jumped on this fanwagon.

4 + 5: Station Eleven + The Silent Patient
I've heard good things about both!
Station Eleven has been on my TBR for years so I need to read it! I came to the horrible realization that I don't often read books by Canadian authors which I need to correct like yesterday. If you have any book recommendations by Canadian authors please leave some below! I love romance, thriller, mystery (anything but horror). On the other hand, I saw The Silent Patient on Book of the Month one day and thought "I need to know what happened".

6 + 7: The Bromance Book Club + The Bride Test
Did I mention I'm a sucker for romance?
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang was one of my top five books read in a previous year and of course I purchased book two the moment it hit my local book store. As a Vietnamese Canadian, I am loving the Viet-rep and humor. The Bromance Book Club was all over my IG feed and it sounded like my exact kind of rom-com hehe.

8: I Want to Eat Your Pancreas
So when a friend first mentioned this title to me, I thought 'zombie book'.
Then I saw the cover of the manga collection... it could not be any further from what I had imagined hahahah. A co-worker of mine also raved about this one and has been asking me if I've read it yet. I AM ON IT K. Based on the synopsis, I am sure to cry.

9 + 10: Always and Forever Lara Jean + Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
Sometimes I just crave cuteness.
Back in my tumblr days, I would see a number of lovely book edits of Ari x Dante that peaked my interest. The cover is beautiful too *heart eyes*. Bring on the cute please! Always and Forever Lara Jean is one of those books I've been meaning to read but hesitant to. Some friends have mentioned it wasn't their cup of tea in terms of plot but I've never been one to leave a series unfinished ahhh.

Recognize any of these books? Have you read any of them?
What is on your Spring/Fall TBR?

  1. I really liked the Grisha Verse books (and yes, start with these). I liked The Kiss Quotient too. I got The Bride Test when it was on sale, but it hasn't won my TBR lottery yet.

  2. Although "Six of Crows" is hands down superior, I`ve really enjoyed The Grisha trilogy. There`s something so magical about Ravka. Also, Ari and Dante is one of my favourite contemporaries, hope you`ll like it.

    1. So far that seems to be the consensus among the readers/bloggers I follow (that Six of Crows >> Grisha). It makes me even more excited to get through the trilogy to hit the jackpot haha. I've only heard good things about Ari x Dante. Can't wait to start it :)
