"If someone didn't want you, then to hell with them. Lesson learned.
Because loving someone was a risk—it left you vulnerable."

Based on the cover (I'm all heart eyes over here!), I thought this would be a sexy kind of romantic suspense. Turns out there was very little [read: hardly any] sexy times/romance and a heck of a lot of heart-racing suspense. I didn't really mind the lack thereof but I felt kind of misled by the cover and title. The suspense aspect of the novel was great though! Love You Madly reminded me of a certain Liam Neeson movie, so I had no problem visualizing the setting and many important scenes. Doing so actually made the book more enjoyable for me.

"When it comes to matters of the heart, you decided where you belong and you go be there."

Stage Dive is one of my all-time favorite rock star romance series. These books are filled with humor (A LOT of humor), sexiness and heart-warming moments. I loved the friendships, especially the bromance (Mal + anyone is a delight!!). I was incredibly excited to start Deep but at the same time, it was bittersweet knowing that it was the final book in the series. I've grown quite attached to these guys so I'll miss them terribly, but I'm silently praying that we'll see small cameos of them in Kylie Scott's upcoming Dive Bar series *crosses fingers*.

Review: SCORING WILDER by R.S. Grey

Title: Scoring Wilder
Author: R.S. Grey
Standalone
Publication Date: June 15, 2014
| +Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes&Noble |

What started out as a joke—seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score.

With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam wilder. He's a professional soccer player, America's favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.

A face that makes girls week - check.
Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) - check.
Enough confidence to shift the earth's gravitational pull - double check.

Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits. Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. "Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you'll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.") But that just makes him all the more enticing...Besides, Kinsley's already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.

Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term "team bonding."

A fun & sexy New Adult Romance (age 17+)

"She believed she could, so she did."

Scoring Wilder was an amusing and fun read. There just wasn't as much depth to the story and characters as I would've liked. It was incredibly cute though. And I did think that R.S. Grey did a wonderful job writing realistic first-year university students with how they speak and act. Most times, I imagine these stories are set in some alternate universe but for Scoring Wilder, I could definitely see myself bumping into these characters on the street, like they were written as part of my world.  It was probably due to all the movie and celebrity references, which I absolutely loved (that Harry Potter themed hazing was very creative lol)!

Kinsley's dream is to play in the Olympics. A rising soccer-star, she enrolled into her first year of university where she plays first-string for the ULA women's soccer team. She quickly becomes best friends with two of her teammates, Becca and Emily. They made for some hilarious dialogue (especially Becca)! Kinsley was sarcastic and driven. Her inner monologues had me giggling. After having been cheated on by two boyfriends, she wants nothing more than to focus on improving her soccer skills. That is, until Liam Wilder steps in as the assistant coach.

I wasn't a fan of Kinsley's but I was cheering and swooning over Liam like a mad woman (I have a weakness for soccer players). It was instant attraction between the two but both are hesitant to start any sort of relationship besides coach and player. Plus, there's a no fraternizing rule that the head coach made. Liam was charming and funny. And his gigantic sweet tooth was endearing. It didn't take long for them to give in to their attraction though.

"Kinsley: What if there are photographers?
Liam: I'll make sure there aren't any.
Kinsley: Did you just make me an accomplice in their murders?
Liam: My bad. Delete this text."

I really enjoyed their scenes together but I would have loved it had I known why they were so into each other. Yes, they both play soccer. And yes, they both kick-ass at it. But what else? When their relationship was at risk, Kinsley pretty much ran away. To be honest, I wanted her to grovel some more before Liam took her back. Once they were officially together, the sweetness and cheesiness was great and I was back to loving them.

Oh, I musn't forget about Tara, ULA women's soccer team captain. She's the villain of this story. I actually thought she felt threatened by Kinsley in terms of her soccer skills. Tara was always focusing her bullying on Kinsley and her friends. It only got worse when Liam took an interest in Kinsley. Turns out Tara had a thing for Liam but he turned her down. She frustrated and annoyed me to no end.

Overall, if you're just looking for a book that's light with some steam and tons of laugh out loud moments, I'd give this one a shot.

"I'd say I like you more than regular M&Ms, but you're going to have to really step it up
if you want to beat out peanut M&Ms."

Becca
She was a fantastic secondary character!
I actually liked her much more than Kinsley.
Funny, loud and outgoing.
I especially loved that you got to read about her blooming romance with Penn.

Drive-in movie
"I hate not being able to take you on real dates, so I wanted to make it special,"
he admitted, then followed with, "I also just really like candy."
I need a Liam Wilder in my life, period.

**A complimentary copy was kindly provided by author M.L. Stephens via The Book Nuts in exchange for an honest review**

“There’s nothing wrong with pain. You need it so you know what does and doesn't matter. Without it, there’s no healing, no appreciation…no satisfaction.”

I have mixed feelings about Bare Essentials. On one hand I really liked the main characters, but on the other hand I couldn’t connect with their relationship. It felt rushed.

Bare Essentials tells the story of Cutter Harrison, Arkansas cowboy and talented singer/songwriter, who unexpectedly gets scouted by Holly Avery, top-dog music agent. Cutter was a mix of sexy and adorable. He was devoted in helping his parents run the Harrison farm even from a young age. He wrote songs about his ex Angie, whom he loved dearly but wouldn't take him back, and sung them for emotional release. Cutter was honest and wasn’t ashamed to shed a tear in the moment. Whenever he did though, I just wanted to hug him!

I loved Holly. She went after what she wanted with no restraint. A single mother, she was a spit-fire, intelligent and witty. Their attraction was instant and slowly, Cutter’s thoughts were plagued with Holly rather than Angie. Holly was determined to keep things professional though. Their banter during their very first meeting had me laughing. Here's a quote from that scene:

“Are you kidding? This is the best ass in Arkansas.” He clenched his glutes for effect.
“If that’s the case, the population of Arkansas must have dramatically dropped since the last census.”

But, like I mentioned earlier, I couldn’t connect with how their romantic relationship started in the first place. Mainly because in a span of a few days, Cutter was smitten with Holly and Holly didn’t really fight the attraction for someone wanting to stay professional. Whenever she did give in though, she'd give the cold shoulder the next day. I really wished that there were more scenes of them getting to know each other before the time jump into Cutter's music career. For me, bonding over the world’s best hamburger wasn’t enough reason for Cutter to start constantly thinking about her when he was heart-broken from Angie.

Besides that, the rest of the novel was wonderful. I loved that Cutter admitted to being afraid of losing who he was, his roots, once he becomes a Country star and how he was concerned with the welfare of his parents' farm. Gah, I love family loyalties, it makes me feel big time! On that note, I would have liked seeing Ray Ann, Holly's daughter, playing a greater role in the story. Overall, this book was good read, light and enjoyable. I do look forward to reading Jax’s story though. In the few scenes he had, he left an amusingly good impression.

“That’s how legends are created. You be one-hundred percent you and no one else.”

"You were mine, even when you were his."

The Promise was one of my highly anticipated books after Frankie and Benny were first introduced in At Peace (book 2 of The ‘Burg series). Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling it. Something about their relationship fell flat for me. I still enjoyed it though, especially with all the cameos!

In At Peace, Frankie was this incredibly bad-ass woman who didn't take shit from anyone. Then in The Promise it was like she lost that side of her completely. On the other hand, I liked Benny. He was protective and had Frankie's back when it came to her crappy family (excluding Cat, I liked her too). I felt the fixing of the breach with the Bianchis was simple and that they accepted Benny and Frankie's relationship too easily, I would've liked for those points to have been discussed some more. I LOVED ALL THE CAMEOS.

"God doesn't care who you let in there, just as long as the feelin's are honest when
          you let him in."

KA epilogues make my heart all warm and fluttery, this one was no exception. I liked how we ended in Theresa's pov, a great tie-in with the ending of At Peace. I'm really looking forward to the next book. I want Cheryl to have an HEA, and if Ethan is happy too, that's even better!

Cal
Hands down. Loved him in At Peace and I love him now.
He's such a lovable macho-man (one of my fav KA alphas ever)!
Whenever he gets protective of his girls, I just sigh and swoon.

Why I Love You
"I'd breathe. I'd eat. I might one day laugh again. But I wouldn't be living.
There is no life for me without you."
This made me fluttery everywhere.
This entire scene (85%) was so touching and sweet.
