Release Date: February 2, 2016
Genre: NA, Romance, Thriller
- - -
The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths and Burying Water series makes her romance thriller debut with this heart pounding story of a young woman determined to find justice after her best friend's death, a story pulsing with the "intense, hot, emotional" (Colleen Hoover) writing that exhilarates her legions of fans.

Twenty-eight-year-old Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York City to pack up what's left of her best friend's belongings after a suicide that has left everyone stunned. The police have deemed the evidence conclusive: Celine got into bed, downed a bottle of Xanax and a handle of Maker's Mark, and never woke up. But when Maggie discovers secrets in the childhood lock box hidden in Celine's apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man who Celine herself claimed would be her ruin.

On the hunt for answers that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine's private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.
- - -
Why? I'm a big fan of K.A. Tucker after having read her Ten Tiny Breaths series and meeting her at a signing! I love any sort of romance + suspense/thriller combo so of course, I had to add this one to my tbr :D

The Girl From Everywhere (The Girl From Everywhere #1)
by Heidi Heilig
Release Date: February 16, 2016
| +Goodreads |
Genre: YA, Fantasy, Historical, Sci-fi, Time-Travel
Publisher: Greenwillow Brooks
- - -
Heidi Heilig's debut teen fantasy sweeps from modern-day New York City to nineteenth-century Hawaii to places of myth and legend. Sixteen-year-old Nix has sailed across the globe and through centuries aboard her time-traveling father's ship. But when he gambles with her very existence, it all may be about to end. The Girl from Everywhere, the first of two books, will dazzle readers of Sabaa Tahir, Rae Carson, and Rachel Hartman.

Nix's life began in Honolulu in 1868. Since then she has traveled to mythic Scandinavia, a land from the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, modern-day New York City, and many more places both real and imagined. As long as he has a map, Nix's father can sail his ship, The Temptation, to any place, any time. But now he's uncovered the one map he's always sough—1868 Honolulu, before Nix's mother died in childbirth. Nix's life—her entire existence—is at stake. No one knows what will happen if her father changes the past. It could erase Nix's future, her dreams, her adventures...her connection with the charming Persian thief, Kash, who's been part of their crew for two years. If Nix helps her father reunite with the love of his life, it will cost her her own.

In The Girl from Everywhere, Heidi Heilig blends fantasy, history, and a modern sensibility with witty, fast-paced dialogue, breathless adventure, and enchanting romance.

Why? My friend Sil from The Book Voyagers has been raving about this book in our Fizzle Reads whatsapp group chat. The blurb has me hooked and who doesn't love time-travel??

**Author's Note**
It's possible to only read the Calloway Sisters spin-off series without reading the Addicted series [Jae: you would be missing out on so many feels though, don't do itt xD], but you MUST read Fuel the Fire (Calloway Sisters #3) before reading Long Way Down (Calloway Sisters #4)

It's highly recommended to read the books in the recommended reading order, which is in tangent with the Addicted series.

Why? Anyone who follows me on the blog, twitter, instagram, or any social media platform really, will know how obsessed I am with the Addicted series by these twin-writing-wizards. I'm so invested in these characters. I am both highly anticipating and dreading its release. It just means we're getting closer and closer to the end.

You've Got Mail meets How to Eat a Cupcake in this delightful novel about a talented chef and the food critic who brings down her restaurant—whose chance meeting turns into a delectable romance of mistaken identities.

In downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lou works tirelessly to build her beloved yet struggling French restaurant, Luella's, into a success. She cheerfully balances her demanding business and even more demanding finacé...until the morning she discovers him in the buff—with an intern.

Witty yet gruff British transplant Al is keeping himself employed and entertained by writing scathing reviews of local restaurants in the Milwaukee newspaper under a pseudonym. When an anonymous tip sends him to Luella's, little does he know he's arrived on the worst day of the chef's life. The review practically writes itself; underdone fish, scorched sauce, distracted service—he unleashes his worst.

The day that Al's mean-spirited review of Luella's runs, the two cross paths in a pub; Lou drowning her sorrows, and Al celebrating his latest publication. As they chat, Al playfully challenges Lou to show him the best of Milwaukee and she's game—but only if they never discuss work, which Al readily agrees to. As they explore the city's local delicacies and their mutual attraction, Lou's restaurant  faces closure, while Al's column gains popularity. It's only a matter of time before the two fall in love...but when the truth comes out, can Lou overlook the past to chase her future?

Set in the lovely, quirky heart of Wisconsin, The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is a charming love story of misunderstandings, mistaken identity, and the power of food to bring two people together.

THIS BOOK SOUNDS AMAZING!!
I love a heroine who takes matters into her own hands and Shazi sounds so bad-a. Just knowing that she falls for her "enemy/target" has me giddy. Many of the reviews I've read have spoken positively about this book so I can't wait to get it in my hands!

A Darker Shade of Magic
By Victoria Schwab
Genre: YA, Fantasy, Magic, Parallel Universes
Release Date: February 24, 2015
Publisher: Tor Books

Kell is one of the last Travelers—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes—as such, he can choose where he lands.

There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there’s Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne—a place where people fight to control magic, and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London...but no one speaks of that now.

Officially, Kell is the Red Traveler, personal ambassador and adopted Prince of Red London, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see—a dangerous hobby, and one that has set him up for accidental treason. Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs afoul of Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations, who first robs him, then saves him from a dangerous enemy, and then forces him to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

But perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, Kell and Lila will first need to stay alive—and that is proving trickier than they hoped.

The ability to go to a parallel universe of your choice? Yes, please.
There's also MAGIC, cross-dressing thieves, pirates, royalty and epic magicky fights.
I have not read a book by Victoria Schwab yet but A Darker Shade of Magic sounds stellar!

My pick for the week is The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver. I love the intrigue of this story, how Maddy could have hid so much from her twin. Just from the blurb I have a feeling my heart will hurt (in the best way possible). Books about moving on from grief always get to me. Can't wait until April!
